Suzuki Swift Hybrid

Suzuki Swift Hybrid

Engine

For the new Suzuki Swift Hybrid , a brand-new, extremely effective three-cylinder gasoline engine with multi-point fuel injection has been developed. This engine offers better torque, more fuel economy, and even lower CO2 emissions than the previous model. With a slightly higher torque of 112 Nm at just 4,500 rpm, the maximum power output of 82 PS and a 5% faster acceleration time to 62 mph (12.5 seconds for the manual model and 11.9 seconds for the optional CVT) are achieved.

By maximizing cylinder turbulence for quicker combustion, utilizing an intermediate locking mechanism on the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) intake, and raising the flow rate of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve, higher fuel efficiency has been attained in comparison to the outgoing K12D engine.

EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR DESIGN

The new Swift’s muscular appearance is further enhanced by blacked-out pillars that give the impression of a floating roof, adding to its sense of lightness. A piano-black front grille and L-shaped signature lamps that follow the car’s flowing body lines give the car a high-tech appearance. With their revised inner lens + light rod design, the LED headlamps now appear wider when illuminated.

The car’s unique sculpted tailgate, wide rear bumper, integrated rear hatch spoiler, and boot side spoilers give the new Swift a stable, well-balanced appearance from the back. When illuminated, the rear combination lamps, which share the same design type as the front, give the impression of three dimensions.

A prominent nine-inch infotainment display is standard, and the interior boasts a new, high-quality dual-tone design with center controls angled towards the driver.

With reshaped cushioning between the shoulder and side bolsters, the heated front seats with standard equipment have a more sculpted appearance. A geometric pattern on the upholstery surface and the use of dual-tone “Melange Grey” and black cloth for both Motion and Ultra grades serve to highlight this design.

‘HEARTECT’ LIGHTWEIGHT PLATFORM

The new Swift is built upon the well-proven “HEARTECT” platform, which offers improved basic vehicle performance because it is extremely rigid and light. A thorough redesign of the underbody’s structure and component arrangement during development led to the adoption of a very rigid frame that improves collision safety and has a continuous, curved, and smooth form that aids in the faster dispersal of energy.

By using Suzuki’s most recent platform strategy, the engine compartment’s size was reduced, increasing the amount of space available for passengers and luggage in Swift .

Reduced NVH

A number of steps were taken during development to lessen harshness, vibration, and noise to help improve ride comfort and make the cabin environment even quieter than the outgoing model.

Sound and vibration adhesive has been applied to the underbody of a Suzuki car for the first time to lessen noise and vibration transfer into the cabin, especially on uneven roads in Suzuki Swift Hybrid

Aerodynamics

The new Swift features several novel elements in its aerodynamic design, such as the first-ever use of a torsion beam cover by Suzuki for the rear axle and the first-ever tailgate side and roof end spoilers by Swift. The entire body exterior is optimized for improved aerodynamics, and underbody spoilers and strakes are also included. This includes a sleek, trim-free front bumper assembly devoid of any decorations.

The perfect combination of weight, strength, and aerodynamics can be found in the new 16-inch alloy wheels design. With a disc-shaped outer rim to improve aerodynamic performance, the wheel cutouts are smaller and the wheels appear larger than they actually are thanks to this design. Additionally, compared to the tires on the previous model, the newest technology tires offer 15% less rolling resistance.

Hybrid Technology – Enhanced Hybrid System

Suzuki Swift Hybrid

When combined with a self-charging hybrid system that uses a 10Ah lithium-ion battery to improve energy recovery efficiency, fuel efficiency is further increased.

The 12V Mild Hybrid system, which comes standard on the new Swift, is a lightweight, compact unit that includes an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) that serves as a generator and starter motor. The ISG is belt-driven, aids in the engine’s takeoff and acceleration, and produces electricity through regenerative braking. The ISG unit can produce 2.3 kW of power and 60 Nm of torque. Suzuki’s 12V Mild Hybrid is especially lightweight; the system’s component weight adds less than 7.0 kg to the car’s total weight.

The hybrid system helps the Swift Motion with manual transmission achieve both a combined cycle fuel consumption of 64.2 mpg (WLTP) and CO2 emissions of just 99g/km (WLTP regulation).

SAFETY HIGHLIGHTS

For both the Motion and Ultra Swift grades, standard active safety equipment consists of an upgraded Dual Sensor Brake Support system that combines a monocular camera with a millimeter-wave radar (formerly known as lidar). With better visibility at night and at intersections, this system has improved collision mitigation. Its enhanced functionality allows it to detect pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists, and vehicles ahead of it.

The system uses milliwave radar to keep an eye on the road ahead. It can operate in inclement weather, at high speeds, in the dark, and with radar technology. The three features of the system—Warning, Brake Assist, and Automatic Braking—prevent or lessen the likelihood of a collision.

Driver Monitoring System (DMS)

In order to facilitate monitoring in low light, a near-infrared LED illuminates the driver’s face while a camera integrated into the instrument panel keeps an eye on their eyes. The system sounds a warning alarm and shows an alert message on the information display if it senses that the driver is sleepy, turning away from the road, or drowsy.

The degree of eyelid closure and frequency of yawns are monitored by the system to identify driver drowsiness. The monitoring system will alert the driver to take a break by sounding an alarm and displaying an alert message on the information display if this is detected at speeds of at least 43 mph.

Lane Departure Warning / Lane Departure Prevention Function:

The system alerts the driver to lane departures caused by factors like inattention to the road by vibrating the steering wheel and lighting a warning indicator in the instrument cluster when the vehicle is moving at a speed of about 37 mph or more and is leaving the lane without using a turn signal. In addition, the driver will notice an automatic input from the steering wheel to guarantee the vehicle stays in the intended direction of travel in these circumstances.

COMFORT AND CONVENIENCE

Suzuki Connect, which debuted on the S-Cross Hybrid model in 2022, has now been extended to the UK and European markets for the new Swift.

Suzuki Connect connects users to their cars in real time by using the data communication module (DCM) of the car. From there, users can use the Suzuki Connect smartphone app to access convenient features.

Through the Suzuki Connect app, which is accessible on both Android and iOS platforms, owners can connect their car to the internet and take advantage of numerous practical connected services. These include remote vehicle locking and unlocking, real-time status monitoring and notifications, and access to driving records and parked car location data.

Service Activated Warranty – Up to Seven Years Cover.

All Suzuki customers receive a Service Activated Warranty, which guarantees a low cost of ownership. Service Activated Warranty was first introduced in April 2023. It is provided at no cost to the vehicle owner when the manufacturer warranty expires and the vehicle is scheduled for its subsequent scheduled service within the Suzuki Dealer network. This warranty is automatically renewed up to a maximum vehicle age of 7 years / 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, and remains in effect until the next qualifying service.

In addition to Suzuki’s well-known track record of reliable products, the Service Activated Warranty program provides dealers with strong customer retention and “Peace of Mind as Standard” across its network of authorized repair centers and new car dealerships.

Major components are covered, and the warranty can be easily transferred to the next owner—again at no cost—should a customer choose to sell their vehicle between services and within the seven-year qualifying period.

Furthermore, as long as the qualifying Suzuki undergoes a Suzuki Vehicle Health Check before being purchased privately or has a lapse in its dealer service history, the Service Activated Warranty may also be applied.

1 A separate contract is needed for Suzuki Connect.

2 (With tablets and smartwatches excluded) The following smartphone OS versions are supported by the Suzuki Connect app: Android: 8.0 or later, iOS: 15.0 or later.
