ENGINE

An advanced 292cc liquid-cooled, four-valve single engine that produces smooth, tractable power powers the XMAX. The cylinder has a lightweight forged piston and forged crankshaft, and it is made of Yamaha’s DiASil aluminum for superior heat dissipation. While the offset cylinder layout and semi-dry-sump lubrication system help to reduce friction and drag inside the engine, a counterbalancer guarantees minimal vibration.

With no clutch or gears, the Yamaha Continuously Variable Transmission allows to provide the ease of truly “twist and go” riding. Because of this, the XMAX has a laid-back riding personality that makes it perfect for navigating city traffic during the week and taking leisurely rides on the weekends. Additionally, the CVT system has a large air-cooling path for the drive belt, which greatly lowers engine noise and heat.

Similar to Yamaha’s state-of-the-art supersport and sport-touring vehicles, the XMAX has a Traction Control System that has been remapped to offer more sophisticated intervention characteristics. It also has a 12-hole injector for modern fuel injection for exceptional response. In order to help prevent uncontrollable wheelspin, the engine smoothly cuts power if the TCS detects rear tire slip. The TCS continuously measures wheel speeds.

Thanks to the efficient engine design features and advanced powertrain, the XMAX delivers 73 mpg. Combined with a large 3.4-gallon fuel tank, the XMAX boasts impressive cruising range.

CHASSIS/SUSPENSION

With its sophisticated sport styling and aggressive, angular cues, the XMAX pushes the boundaries of design, giving this Yamaha a distinct look and a competitive edge.

The XMAX has a large motorcycle-style front fork that attaches to the steering stem at the top and bottom triple clamps, in contrast to most scooters. Compared to standard scooter-style forks, this offers a better damping feel, shock absorption, and the perfect balance of strength and chassis rigidity.

With a steel frame and a wet weight of just 403 pounds when fully fueled, the XMAX is designed for light and neutral handling characteristics, resulting in exceptional maneuverability.

For improved handling and a sporty look, the XMAX has large 15-inch front and 14-inch rear wheels. For superior traction in both dry and wet conditions, the XMAX is also equipped with the newest Dunlop Scoot Smart tires.

The XMAX provides the rider with controllable braking power thanks to its large 267mm front and 245mm rear disc brakes. You’ll feel secure in a variety of road conditions thanks to Yamaha’s anti-lock braking system.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

With Yamaha’s Smart Key system, accessing the machine no longer requires using a key. The proximity Smart Key can be used to lock the handlebar, start the bike, and access the fuel tank and storage areas.

The seat’s design reduces leg reach to the floor for increased accessibility and offers outstanding comfort.

A sizable underseat storage space that locks firmly to protect valuables adds even more convenience. Two more storage bays are also included in the fairing; one of them has an electronic lock, and a new USB Type-C socket is now standard.
